Seriously, being broke is bad. Like really bad. You have dreams but you are too broke to go after it.
I trust you have heard this story about Sylvester Stallone, one of the greatest movie star in Hollywood.
Let me tell you his story once more.
Sylvester Stallone was a struggling actor. He was so damn broke that he stole his wife’s jewellery and sold it. He was homeless and couldn’t even afford to eat.
Things got so bad when he couldn’t even feed his dog and decided to sell it at the liquor store for just $25. He cried that day.
He later saw a boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner and it gave him an inspiration to write a movie script titled ROCKY. It took him 20 hours to write that script.
He tried selling the script but only on the condition that he wanted to take a leading role. He wanted to be the main actor. Most producers he met told him outright No. They looked down on him. They couldn’t imagine him being the main actor. They needed a real movie star and not some guy on the streets.
The producers seeing how awesome his script was offered him more money but Sylvester still stood his ground. He wasn’t giving up his script unless they make him the main actor.
Finally, the producers accepted his request, offered him just 35 Dollars while he takes up the leading role in the movie.
Surprisingly, at the Oscar Award, the movie won Best picture, best directing, best film editing. Heck! Sylvester was nominated as the best actor. And his movie, Rocky was inducted into the American National Film Registry as one of the greatest movies ever.
You see that??
The same Sylvester who slept on the streets with an empty stomach became of the greatest movie stars.
Seriously, it’s a tough world. If you aren’t rich, famous, connected, you will find life very difficult and tough. No matter how much you dream, if you are broke, doors will be shut on your face.
But whatever happens, learn from Sylvester Stallone, keep your dreams alive. Don’t let people crush that dream of yours. People will definitely judge you by what you have or how you look but then keep fighting. Don’t let their words get to you.
Keep pushing it.
Don’t give up.
According to Dale Carnegie, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”
Hear Albert Einstein, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
