Amidst growing concerns about President Buhari’s health, the Spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Olumba Olumba Obu has revealed that the President will not die in office.
Speaking in Calabar, Cross River State, Obu asked those wishing President Muhammadu Buhari dead to desist from it, adding that God purposely chose Buhari to be President of Nigeria so he can fight against corruption.
Olumba Olumba Obu also noted that the President has succeeded in the battle to recover Nigeria’s stolen money and that he must now work towards peace and unity of the country. In his words:
“When we said at the onset of the administration that those who stole Nigeria’s money will return all, many did not believe us.
“But the president must pray for God to lead him to apply the recovered loot to the benefit of all Nigerians. Let me repeat that Nigeria is a very well blessed country; to those wishing the president dead, he will not die.”
Meanwhile, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has called on Nigerians to continue criticising President Buhari because the President is on his way to destroy the country.
When asked in an interview if he [Fayose] is the main opposition voice to the Buhari-led government, the governor, who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum said:
“It’s not as if I am the main opposition to Buhari, I am just a believer in fairness, wherever criminals belong, whoever they are, Muslims or Christians, it does not matter, crime is crime, wickedness is wickedness, brutality is brutality.
“I will continue to say it as it is because when we all keep quiet we will be taken one after the other and we will be destroyed by this administration. We must remember that Nigeria is greater than all of us, the power of the people is better than those of us in power.
“One day we will all die whether it’s by oppression or sickness, so let me say I am not afraid of anything. If you don’t die, age will take everything away from you.
“Look at our President, if you can see his heart, he wishes he was 42 years old because that is the age and time one can be active. May God give him good health because it is in good health that Nigerians can benefit.
“When the President comes out every Friday, do we say we have a ceremonial President? Let us have a President valued for money and votes. You can’t deceive people forever because the truth hurts and the hunger in the land is ridiculous. The people are hungry and angry.”
Given the apparent deterioration in the president’s health condition, lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana and various Nigerian human right groups have beckoned on President Buhari to immediately take a medical leave to enable him attend to his health.
These speculations and rumours on the President’s medical condition have been further fuelled following his absence at the last two meetings of the weekly federal executive council as well as at the last Friday Jumat prayers. Buhari has also neither been seen in public in the last one week.
